Important collaboration: CIC and JAGD & HUND expand their partnership
Planning for joint activities in the coming year now underway
Europe's largest hunting show JAGD & HUND has long since developed from a major visitor attraction to a global industry platform giving key players and associations in the hunting community a congenial space for expert dialogue and discussion on matters associated with hunting policy. Messe Dortmund has now expanded – and strengthened – its key collaboration with one of the international associations, positioning JAGD & HUND as an extended Platinum Partner of the CIC (International Council for Game and Wildlife Conservation) in a collaboration that underlines the show's international credentials.
Dortmund, 27 May 2025 – The partnership is set to deepen collaboration with both the CIC headquarters in Hungary and the German delegation. The shared goal is to raise public awareness of the key role that sustainable hunting plays in the conservation of wildlife and habitats across the world.
One of the plans for JAGD & HUND 2026 is to ramp up the CIC's activities during the show. Visitors to the show have already been benefiting from the expertise provided by the CIC which has been bringing speakers and key representatives to Dortmund from associations and organisations far beyond Germany, and especially from countries in southern Africa. One of the plans for the coming year is to expand the Namibia-themed evening, which was organised successfully this year, promoting key dialogue on the importance of hunting abroad and how it is perceived by the public. Together, Messe Dortmund and the CIC are working to create optimum opportunities for engaging and networking with key international representatives in the industry.
“I'm delighted that we've succeeded in establishing JAGD & HUND not just as THE information platform for hunters, hunting enthusiasts and nature lovers, but also as a forum for dialogue on international hunting policy,” said Sabine Loos, Managing Director of Westfalenhallen Unternehmensgruppe which owns and operates the Messe Dortmund venue. “The great work done by associations like the CIC underlines the importance of our show for the entire international hunting industry. We are grateful to the CIC for helping us strengthen the public perception of hunting and its importance, and for helping us provide associations, industry experts and exhibitors at the show with networking opportunities and qualified information that is difficult – if not impossible – to find elsewhere in such concentrated form. I look forward to continuing our partnership and to the exciting projects we'll be undertaking together.”
