New JAGD & HUND program provides guidance, practical knowledge and a strong community
The hunting examination is passed. The hunting license is in your pocket. Now you can get started – at least so you might think. But then questions arise: What do I really need as basic equipment? Who can provide independent advice? How do I find a hunting ground? Which insurance policies do I need? And where should I start? The best place to start is at JAGD & HUND! Europe’s largest hunting trade fair is not only a meeting place for the established hunting community; from next year onwards, it will also provide even more guidance for newly licensed hunters. WaidStart is the name of the new program designed to make it easier for newcomers to get started in hunting and to connect them with like-minded people.
| Dortmund, 30 September 2026 – WaidStart supports participants throughout their first three years as newly licensed hunters – online and offline, within the community and with exclusive offers. The centerpiece of the program at the trade fair is the new WaidStart Basecamp, a central point of contact in Hall 5. Here, experienced hunters will support the next generation with micro-sessions, open Q&A sessions and practical formats. The focus is on advice, guidance and clear information. This means that newly licensed hunters do not have to navigate the exhibition halls and the wide range of products and services on their own. At the Basecamp, they will find selected topics, clear routes and contact partners who understand the questions that matter to newcomers to hunting. From their first piece of optics equipment to the right knife, they will receive independent advice on what they really need at the beginning – and which purchases can wait. At the same time, a community is being created for people who are at a similar stage in their journey. Newly licensed hunters can exchange ideas, make contacts and find their place within the community. A range of exciting events and the Community Wall will support this exchange. The program at the WaidStart Basecamp will also include guided tours led by well-known content creators, representatives of the state hunting associations, young professional hunters, dog handlers and other people with hands-on hunting experience. Live demonstrations and interactive stations will give visitors the opportunity to try out products for themselves. Above all, the Basecamp will be the place to collect an important document for the starter package: the new Jungjäger-Pass (Young hunters pass). Exclusive offers and discounts With this pass, visitors to JAGD & HUND can access exclusive offers and discounts from selected partners. At the same time, the pass identifies them as members of the WaidStart community and serves as a digital stamp card. Pass holders can collect points at various stations throughout the trade fair and receive rewards. The Jungjäger-Pass also opens doors beyond the trade fair. It will be available at the WaidStart Basecamp during the event and online in advance. Anyone wishing to be well prepared for their visit can book the pass together with their ticket. This eliminates the need to register on site and leaves more time to discover everything WaidStart has to offer. With personalized guidance, practical services and a strong community, JAGD & HUND is becoming a central meeting place for newly qualified hunters – and the ideal place to embark on a career in hunting with support and confidence. All information about the Jungjäger-Pass and the WaidStart program is available in one place and will be continuously updated here on the JAGD & HUND website. |
