Interview slot with the Minister of Environment in Botswana and invitation to a CIC event with participation from Southern Africa
JAGD & HUND, Europe’s largest hunting trade fair, once again underscores its importance as an international platform for dialogue on hunting policy. This is demonstrated by high-level visitors from Southern Africa. Botswana`s Minister of Tourism and Environment, Wynter Boipuso Mmolotsi, has traveled to Dortmund with a senior delegation to highlight the importance of hunting in Botswana from a political and societal perspective. Minister Mmolotsi already addressed the audience on Tuesday (27 January) during the official opening ceremony of the trade fair. In addition to Botswana, Zimbabwe and Namibia are also represented at JAGD & HUND by high-ranking delegations. On Wednesday, exclusive interview opportunities will be available for journalists.
Dortmund, 27 January 2026 – The International Council for Game and Wildlife Conservation (CIC), a long-standing partner of Messe Dortmund in organizing JAGD & HUND, is hosting an event on Wednesday at 6:15 p.m. in the Westfalenhalle. The event will take place on the stage of the WILD FOOD FESTIVAL and will focus on the importance of hunting in Southern Africa.
Minister Wynter Boipuso Mmolotsi will open the evening with introductory remarks. This will be followed by a panel discussion with representatives from Botswana, Namibia, and Zimbabwe, addressing the role of hunting in the context of wildlife management, biodiversity, and regional value creation.
Journalists are warmly invited to attend the event and obtain first-hand information. Numerous representatives from politics and relevant organizations will be available afterward for discussions and background briefings. In addition, Minister Wynter Boipuso Mmolotsi is offering exclusive interview slots for interested media representatives.
