Interesting facts about Europe’s largest hunting fair

Once a year, JAGD & HUND presents a wide range of products and information on hunting, nature, and dogs in all halls of the Dortmund Exhibition Center. Numerous international exhibitors and associations, various events, and stage shows provide visitors with a comprehensive overview of all trends and topics. In addition, Europe’s largest hunting fair offers the ideal platform for exchange—important political exchange but also exchange within the diverse hunting community.

Whether hunting weapons, optics, jewelry or clothing, at Europe’s largest hunting exhibition, interested parties can find all the equipment they need for their next hunt. From functional outdoor clothing to robust shoes and traditional costumes, visitors can get everything they need. Attractive furnishing ideas for your own four walls are provided by suppliers of hunting furniture, equipment and art.

The hunter’s best friend is represented in more ways than one, as around 1,300 hunting dogs will be demonstrating their skills in various demonstrations throughout the duration of the trade fair. Dog treats, clothing and accessories for the beloved four-legged friends are therefore also part of the trade fair’s extensive product portfolio. Another animal highlight are the breathtaking flight shows with birds of prey that captivate the audience. Impressive competitions such as the “German Deer Calling Championship” are also on the program and make JAGD & HUND an experience for young and old.

For a snack or a hearty meal, visit one of the many providers of sustainable game delicacies from the local forests. And visitors who are drawn to faraway places can find out about the certified travel offers at home and abroad from one of the hunting tour operators. The off-road vehicle course in Hall 3, where various vehicles can be put through their paces live, provides a thrill.

At various association stands in the halls, experts and, in the social media area, a wide variety of influencers and bloggers will be on hand to answer questions at Europe’s largest hunting exhibition, JAGD & HUND. And for the little ones, there is the “Lernort Natur” adventure trail, where they can playfully explore nature with all their senses.

Europe’s largest hunting exhibition at Messe Dortmund traditionally offers a comprehensive portfolio of hunting-related topics. In addition to numerous other topics such as hunting weapons and fashion, equipment and off-road vehicles, hunting trips are an integral part of the industry. Interested international and national visitors to JAGD & HUND can find out about the range of hunting trips on offer from exhibitors from all over the world and plan hunting trips to distant countries, neighboring states or other federal states.

With JAGD & HUND, Messe Dortmund offers all hunters and nature lovers a platform to exchange ideas with each other. With the support of experts and partners, the range of products and services on offer is checked and evaluated with regard to the legal framework. Accordingly, no exhibits, services, trips or offers at JAGD & HUND may violate the laws of the Federal Republic of Germany, the European Union, legal regulations of the respective travel countries or the Washington Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species of Wild Fauna and Flora (CITES). Messe Dortmund expressly points this out to all exhibitors in the conditions of admission. As a matter of principle, the legal norms of the respective destination country are decisive for the practice of hunting, as are, for example, the rules of German hunting law for hunting trips to Germany.

In addition to the information in the conditions of admission, the trade fair company also checks compliance with the conditions before and during the entire duration of the trade fair. Together with the Environmental Agency of the City of Dortmund, the North Rhine-Westphalia Hunting Association and designated species protection experts, Messe Dortmund has been carrying out inspection tours throughout JAGD & HUND for many years. This procedure has proven its worth. If there are indications of possible infringements, company stands are checked again separately. Stands and exhibitors will be excluded from participation in the trade fair in the event of violations of the exhibition conditions.

The rights of use for the logos, graphics and images are held by Messe Dortmund GmbH. The logos, graphics and images may only be used in connection with the trade fair. The logo may never be altered or reproduced in part only.
