The satirical green bridge prize
We are looking for wildlife crossing aids (green bridges, wildlife tunnels and electronic wildlife warning systems) that are urgently needed, but unfortunately are often implemented and/or used incorrectly.
When good ideas fail in the face of reality – we are looking for Germany’s most curious wildlife crossing aids!
Whether green bridges, wildlife tunnels or electronic wildlife warning systems – wildlife crossing aids are intended to help animals cross our roads safely. But all too often the good intention fails due to poor implementation: misguided construction planning, nonsensical location, misuse or simply missing the point entirely.
With the satirical competition “Highway to Fail”, together with Frank Zabel from rotwildes-deutschland.de and WILD UND HUND, we want to draw attention to precisely these cases – with a wink, but with a serious concern. To create a better awareness of the importance of wildlife crossing aids, to campaign for more and better crossing aids to be built and to ensure that they are better protected against misappropriation and obstruction.
This is not just about the particularly impressive cases, we also want to draw attention to the many small planning errors and illustrate the scope of the problem.

Important note: Wildlife crossing aids are reserved for game. They should therefore not be entered by humans, even for photos taken as part of the competition. Satellite images and drone images are sufficient for submission (please observe copyrights and regulations for drone flights).
